How to Manifest a Mentor
In Myth #1 of our Manifestation Myth Busters video, Barry shared with you an article written by one Jon Benson, co-author of Fit Over 40… and I mentioned that a Law of Attraction story had led to him being interviewed by me, but that it was a story for another day.
Well, today’s that day!
At the time, I was completely dedicated to interviewing one of the world’s top success experts each and every week for my online radio show, Success Unwrapped. And while the first few guests took some legwork to track down and get to agree to be interviewed, by then I was on a roll.
Well, okay, the first few were surprisingly easy — and two of them were soon to become big stars from appearing in “The Secret” — but once those guys sent notices to their subscribers about how I had interviewed them and pulled out all the stops, digging with my journalistic curiosity in a way they’d never been dug before, then the guests started approaching me to be part of the fun.
Looking back, what had essentially happened was classic LOA at work… I had put my heart, soul and passionate energy into tracking down the world’s top experts on using the Law of Attraction, and achieving well-rounded success, and then I had gotten to the point where I could just let it go.
You know… first the focus, then the detachment. Then the snowball effect begins, and the manifestation appears… which it did…

After a few months of this, subscribers started sending in their ideas for guests as well.
One such email came from Croatia…
Heather hi,
For quite some while I have been listening your talk shows & had a need to tell you that the guests that you choose are really getting more and more interesting and the content is awesome! Just a BIGGEST “BRAVO” as we would say here in Croatia.
I wanted to ask you if you could think of getting Jon Benson on your show. He is a guy with so much goodies to say & at this moment he has a university on “education in destiny” & its so awesome! In the range of Dov Baron, just he is more into live exact examples & going through it step by step. I have achieved so much more inner freedom than all these years on any self help program! And we are just on week number 4. (There are 8 weeks).
I know my words are not enough but you give a call to him and speak for your self so you get the impression! I can just tell you that he has so deep way of thinking wrapped in every day casual language that if you know how to ask you can get a lot out of him, Heather, and that’s why I love your way of communication with your guests! Please respond to me - what you think about that!

Well, I was intrigued by Helen’s email, so I looked up Jon Benson — but what I saw at first glance appeared to be a guy who taught bodybuilding. I mean, his body was buff, his muscles were large, and nearly every picture featured him in his skivvies… what was I to think?
So again, after that initial focus, I let it go.
I thought, “he’s worth taking a further look at… but I don’t have time right now. I’ll add him to my ‘potential interviewee’ file and leave it at that for ahwile.”
A few weeks later… this email arrived in my inbox:
The subject line was: “Your show — a possible guest…”
And inside it continued:
…me. : )
You have a lot of my friends already (Mike Kemski, Joe Vitale, etc.)… so hey. Perfect fit.

Well! Imagine my surprise at this turn of events!
So I did a little more research into him, and discovered that he was not just about body-building… he taught a whole-body approach of making the body, mind and spirit healthy and optimal — and he taught that using the Law of Attraction and other metaphysical principles were the way to achieve that.
Of course, I immediately wrote Jon back, telling him about the little bit of Law of Attraction in action that I had just experienced, and he agreed that that was what had happened.
The rest is history… we did the interview, and now that interview is featured inside the “Heather’s Conversations” section of the Manifest Life portal, along with 17 other top mentors (3 of which were just added to that section, as we’re always expanding the content inside the portal).
You’re not supposed to know who all the secret mentors are in the portal, because we want you to approach this for the life-changing information rather than for the name recognition… but there you go, I’ve told you. Jon Benson is Mentor #5H.

That was phenominal information, am about to listen to the 3 & 4,
I thoroughly enjoyed that, great perspective and being a huge fan of personal development.. and using the Law of Attraction to the utmost…
*It was very enlightening to say the very least.
Love the way you two come across together, very entertaining at the same time as being very informative, and agreed 100% with everything you shared!

Very interesting story there, a perfect example of the LoA at work. For me, at least, my manifestations don’t even occur to me until way after they’ve already manifested. A key to me has been to focus on one thing, but not think of it as “now I’m sending out my intentions to the unverse and activating the LoA”.
So yeah, this seemed to be what happened when you manifested all those mentors

As a journalist of over two decades with an aptitude for investigating or rather segregating the truth from the unobvious, I was really impressed when I realized that you have put the whole truth of manifestation into a single sentence…When you say
“You know… first the focus, then the detachment. Then the snowball effect begins, and the manifestation appears…”
After reading hundreds of books on the subject of manifestation and visualization, I was astounded by the simplicity of this sentence and its implication for advanced manifestation as a technique.
Simply put if one understands the above sentence than he would understand everything about manifestation. Period. There would be nothing more to learn.

Hi Jeremy,
This is called “teaching by example”… so by following the same process, you can attract a mentor — or ANYTHING you want to attract.
As Deepak points out in the comment above yours, the most profound (simple yet powerful) part, and all you really need to know, is this: “You know… first the focus, then the detachment. Then the snowball effect begins, and the manifestation appears…”
But if you need more details to fill in the blanks, the whole story is here. You might just have to read between the lines a bit to apply it to your own life (and your own attractions).

I remember when I was ten I was in the garage looking at my older brothers’ bicycles and was scared to jump on one of them to learn how to ride, because of the horizontal bar much too high for me. I thought I should have a lady bicycle such those I had already seen in the streets. Though I knew my parents had not enough money to ever pay me one, I left the future open (perhaps when I will be older will I get a chance ?) and then forgot about it.
A little bit later, an uncle who lived so far away abroad that we very rarely saw him, came to visit us and brought on the roof of his car … guess what : the old lady bicycle of his daughter ! Never could you see a girl so happy that I was. I was so full of joy that I did not have to learn how to ride : it was so obvious that I rode it spontaneously. The concept of not being able to use my own “new” bicycle never came across my mind, and the science of being balanced was purely natural and immediate. We are all science-infused.
That day was one of the best of my childhood, counting two manifestations of different types at the same time. And not knowing any techniques of LOA.
It is just retrospectively that I know now that I applied (at the age of ten)these techniques without being taught of.
May this divine remembering be of help to any who needs it.

I keep trying, I listen, read and try to envision these principles and ideas, but for some reason I am just not getting it or experiencing the wonderfulness everyone else is?

Hi m,
That might be simply because you’re trying to “envision these principles and ideas” rather than “doing” them.
Envisioning is great, that’s step one; the next step is taking action. Manifestation never happens through envisioning alone.
Take the next step and you might find all your prep work finally falls into place.
